Gottigen Street
North End, Halifax
With the help of architect Judi Obersi, this traditional North End Halifax period home underwent an unusual transformation. We started off with a complete exterior rehabilitation by stripping it back to the sheathing, adding a modern breathable house wrap and cladding. What’s unique however, is that the street facing side of the home retained it’s period charm while the rear addition is a completely modern design that includes a kitchen, a new bathroom and two bedrooms. Exposed concrete, colourful tile work, walnut cabinetry, exposed brick from the original home… too many details. We’ll let the photos do the talking.
